GI Joe Snake Eyes Version 2, Storm Shadow v1, and V1 VAMP jeeps!

GI JOE - A REAL AMERICAN HERO

STORM SHADOW VERSION 1 - 1985

Cast as Cobra's opposite to Snake Eyes, the Storm Shadow character was completely mysterious to the GIJoe cartoon watchers (who always wondered why he was fighting Spirit all the time).  The comic book continuity fleshed his character out in an saga that included Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander, Zartan, and Firefly.

The action figure is a bit of an anomaly - it tends to suffer from yellowing paint, so stark white figures are the ones in demand, and I have seen the faded ones hardly sell, or sell only when accessories are available (an unbroken pair of the nunchuks are a bit hard to get).  FAR fewer quantities are selling than a lot of the other figures I review.

SEPTEMBER 2016 IMPRESSIONS:

  • No sales for complete ones that I found in May.
  • Complete coming back down.

SNAKE EYES VERSION 2 - HASBRO - 1985

While the first Snake Eyes, released in 1982 with the original run of GI Joes, was an interesting, mysterious figure and character, the defining Snake Eyes is the Version 2 released in 1985.  The cool visor, neat sculpt, and fun wolf in the second version became possibly the most iconic action figure of the entire history of GI Joes.

The Breakdown:
Snake Eyes V2 Loose: Loose figure, any condition, with or without accessories.
Snake Eyes V2 Loose Complete: Figure with all accessories.  I am not including the file card in this category (too few examples).

  SEPTEMBER 2016 IMPRESSIONS:

  • Called it.  Loose on an uptick, and a near high.
  • Loose completes coming back down - 3 months dropping in price.

THE VAMP VERSION 1 - 1982

Probably my favorite GIJoe vehicle.  Simple, but nice design (actually based off of the Lamborghini Cheetah -  a sweet-looking, poorly designed SUV).  It's also a solid toy that doesn't have a lot of the missing piece problems that later Joe vehicles have (except I've seen the steering wheel go for as much as an incomplete VAMP at times).

Came with the driver v1 Clutch.
